CSCMP's 2018 Supply Chain Hall of Fame Inductees
The creation of CSCMP’s Supply Chain Hall of Fame was announced to recognize and archive the significant achievements of those who have created, innovated, and mastered the discipline of supply chain management. The Hall of Fame signifies the life-long accomplishments of those members of our industry who have truly improved the world we live in.
But it is not only the concepts, inventions, and innovations that should be celebrated and remembered, it is also the people who took an impossible dream and made it a reality. This honor recognizes individuals that have made a significant impact on the landscape of supply chain management. Nominees must have experienced significant success in the industry, illustrated extraordinary leadership skills, and served as a role model to supply chain students, young professionals, and budding entrepreneurs.
The 2018 CSCMP Supply Chain Hall of Fame inductees were announced at the 2018 EDGE Conference.
The first inductee into the 2018 CSCMP Hall of Fame class, representing Current Industry Transformation is Michael Dell. Michael Dell is a born businessman and entrepreneur who, at age 27, became the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 company. He’s an American businessman, investor, philanthropist, author, and founder and CEO of Dell Technologies, one of the world’s largest technology companies.
The second inductee into the 2018 CSCMP Hall of Fame class, representing Historical Industry Transformation is George Stevenson. Nicknamed the “Father of Railways”, British engineer George Stevenson pioneered rail transportation, one of the most important technological inventions of the 19th century.
The third inductee into the 2018 CSCMP Hall of Fame class, representing Knowledge Creation is Peter Drucker, who has been described as “the founder of modern management”. Peter Drucker was a management consultant, educator, and author, but he was also a visionary, predicting many of the major economic and commercial developments of the late twentieth century.
The final inductee is this year’s recipient of CSCMP’s highest honor, the 2018 Distinguished Service Award, Dr. John Gattorna. He is also honored as the final 2018 Hall of Fame inductee.
